Tigers Name Sten Mayunga General Manager

The Kent Tigers have named Sten Mayunga as General Manager, it was announced today.

Sten joins the Tigers after spending the greater part of a decades working with the Premier League and as the owner of a sports brand. In his role, Sten will work with all aspect of the club to execute it’s longterm plans.

The Kent resident earned his BSc in Sports Studies from the University of Kent with honors in 2014, before receiving his coaching badges from Basketball England in 2021. While at the University of Kent, Sten became the President of the biggest sports society and is a founding member of Team Medway. As a Director of Kent Tigers, Sten takes on an active operational role on the day to day operations as the GM.

“I am beyond excited to finally start this journey in the Kent Tigers front office,” said Sten. “I have no doubt that the Tigers will become the gold standard for basketball clubs in the UK, and it’s my responsibility as the GM to pursue this aim via excellence in everything we do. We pride ourselves to be a community driven club, we not only want to play good entertaining basketball, but we want to ensure we attract the community to our games and build on a family atmosphere with excellence in all aspects. Excellence is what the Tigers stands for and is what we demand of our players, staff and volunteers. That obsession for greatness is what will get the Kent Tigers basketball to an elite level both competitively and as a hub for fans. With Tomiwa and Brian supporting in guiding the vision, I am thrilled to help architect the future. I am really excited to get to work.”
